AAMA 502

Field Testing of Newly Installed Fenestration Products to ensure air and moisture penetration is minimized in new window installations.

This testing is based on guidelines established by ASTM International (formerly known as the American Society for Testing and Materials) and is done during the construction phase but prior to the issuance of occupancy permits. Typically, a sampling of windows from the project is selected and tested and the number of tests is dependent on the size and budget of the project.

AAMA 511

Forensic Water Penetration Testing of Fenestration Products to assist industry professionals in selecting appropriate standards for the application of field investigations of fenestration products.

The AMAA 511 test is used when the source of the leak is thought to be related to a defective fenestration product. Thus, this diagnostic test involves recreating water leaks that are known to occur which is commonly referred to as investigative water penetration testing.
